Under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), the Ministry of AYUSH approved the establishment and upgrade of hundreds of AYUSH Wellness Centres across the country.
These centres bring Ayurveda, Yoga, and naturopathy-based preventive healthcare into mainstream public access.
The upgraded centres will provide:
- Ayurveda OPD services
- Yoga & lifestyle counselling
- Panchakarma therapies (in select centres)
- Basic diagnostics
- Herbal medicine distribution
- Community awareness programs
The government’s vision is to integrate AYUSH into primary healthcare, enabling early disease prevention and improving patient access in rural and semi-urban regions.
The initiative is expected to benefit millions and also create opportunities for trained BAMS graduates to serve in public health roles.
